What happened: This all happened after an hour of station shenanigans where I, as the heretic miner, did very little but teach a new borg miner (Lopez) the ropes of Lavaland and gather mats for the station after I got found out at the start of the shift (I was very silly and siphoned a tear of reality right in front of two medics). While I was with the borg in robotics to show him how the upgrades for the pka work, the detective Sachie Pratt came up to me and asked me if I was a heretic. Given that I assumed the whole station knew at that point, I very unconvincingly feigned ignorance.

Sachie knew though, and told me that she needed my help. Thinking it was something pertaining to loose traitors wrecking security or interdimensional horrors, I readily agreed. Turns out, the Captain and the HoP were apparently very unprofessional and barely cared for Space Law, brigging people and executing them on the most flimsy of excuses.

I knew nothing of the situation, but given that I needed to sacrifice a Head anyways and the Captain just so happened to be a target for me, I agreed. I know I probably shouldn’t have taken things in my own hands and supported what amounts to a mutiny, but I thought that I given that he was someone I needed to get anyways, I accepted their help.

I immediately went to the bridge where I knew the Captain would be. I asked them over coms if they would be willing to talk to me in front of the bridge. They agreed, which surprised me! I guess they really didn’t pay attention to me basically outing myself as a heretic at shift start. Or they forgot, it had been an hour. Anyways, they came up to me, and the detective joined me.

I started with using my Mark of Rust on the captain, and then hitting them with my crusher. The captain managed to stun baton me, and while I was down, the detective and a random doctor? I think? started hitting them and stunning them too. After recovering from the stun, I took the captain to in front of the vault, drew a rune, and sacrificed them. All in view of a member of sec.

Afterwards, I went to Evac, as the shuttle had been called beforehand due to some issues with O2 on station. As the shuttle came in, the captain reappeared in Medical Storage. As they boarded the shuttle, the started shooting me in the head with deadly lasers. I went down as I tried to fight them, but the detective and a doctor came to my rescue, which was rather surprising. None of us died due to the work of the CMO, but the doctor started planting punji sticks in front of the shuttle cockpit.

I realise that as a mentor, I should not have even entertained the notion of a mutiny without Centcom approval. But I got antag brain, and I just didn’t think of it. No matter what Caiden did during the shift, I apologise to them for going after them in the way that I did, and I’ll strive to do better in the future.

I’d like to mention that Caiden’s very first words to me were pretty damn demeaning and this set the tone for every interaction I had with him after that point. Not just me, but several other crew were extremely dissatisfied with having him as captain. I watched him act like this with several other people, but what got me particularly frustrated was when he allowed the HoP to start ordering us around in the Brig. The HoP went on to unlawfully execute one of our prisoners, and in response to being informed of this Caiden told me to build a guillotine. After doing what he asked, he decided to let the unlawful execution slide entirely rather than just demoting the HoP as he should’ve. At this point, I’d heard people talking about overthrowing him and decided to push it considering everything I’d seen up to that point.

Regarding what happened after, I did forget that you require admin approval for mutinies - however I thought simply allowing the Captain to be sacrificed would be fine considering that it’s generally not a round removal. I think Bombyx was trying to remind me of this but I didn’t quite get it. I shouldn’t have gotten directly involved by stunning him either. That’s inexcusable and I apologize for it. That being said, Caiden seems to think that if anything against the rules perceived or otherwise happens to him - that means he has a free pass to break as many rules as he likes after. His excuse for ignoring the heretic flavor text entirely was “I considered the round void.” He then threatened to show us how “bad he can be” in the round-end OOC. This will be very important to my grief report against him for the very next round.

Handled, thanks for the report.

Lux, you yourself didn’t do much wrong; an opportunity arose that allowed you to get a usually high risk target with relatively low risk this round. Can’t fault you for that, especially since you weren’t the one who started the chaos on station
