or, Alternatively Named - How I learned to stop miming and love the Red Sec
Byond Account: Photoshoot
Character Name: (Mime, Non Standard Name)
Round ID of Ban: 22552
Ban Message : Core 2 greytiding/grief, Core 0.1 rule lawyering/being a dick. as a non-antag mime, spent the round harrassing people (shoving, stunning, invisible walls, etc) stealing stun weapons and using them on multiple people, stealing multiple IDs and other items, spacing permabrig juat so you could walk out to die, and creating 4 seperate adminhelp tickets for the same series of events. You don’t have enough playtime since your 1-week ban so this progresses to 1-month as per out policies. You already know the ban appeal and staff report processes from your previous appeal, feel free.
Rules Lawyering(0.1) - Rule skirting, lawyering, and/or being a dick for the sake of ruining others’ experiences can become a bannable offense if occurring regularly.
I am unsure what this refers to so I will be assuming that it mentions the 4 adminhelp tickets. I’ve recently figured this out on TGStation code, but at the time I was unaware how to respond to a ticket without an admin having responded to me. Therefore, when new events happened, I was making a new adminhelp to update the information (on Yogstation, this will automatically add it to your old ticket when you pick the option) assuming it would add to my old ticket.
Greytiding(2.0) - Malicious acts like griefing, metagaming, killbaiting, banbaiting, powergaming, self-antagging, greytiding, validhunting (along with calling people and silicons valid without proper cause), and exploiting can become bannable offenses if occurring regularly or if the infraction is serious enough.[See the glossary here].
Again, I believe this refers to the behaviour as the mime. I’d like to say I don’t remember this very well, so some details may be inaccurate, but my version of the accounts follows. I was playing mime, generally goofing around like a goober. I kept getting arrested for various nonsensical and/or valid but strange reasons. I am pretty sure the root cause was me refusing to cooperate with a random search leading into an arrest under the assumption I was the mime that commited a crime, when I was a different mime. I then started a escalated series of antics, and each arrest, I could not explain my side of the story coherently because of my lack of speech, and dedication to proper RP (not miming while cuffed since I didn’t have use of my arms, and not writing because it’s against my mime honour, and attempted to explain myself using gestures. After this failed, I eventually, due to resisting out of frustration, and eventually got perma’d despite not commiting any crime making such a sentence valid. Therefore, since my admin reports were left unanswered for the whole duration of the debacle, and my increasing frustration with meeting the brick wall of communication with security, I attempted to break out of permabrig (which did not contain any other players, therefore not causing any harm due to the buffer of firelocks and doors to the rest of security) to escape my (from my perspective) unfair sentence. In regards to the use of stun weapons and stolen IDs, the stun weapons were ONLY used on their owners, and given back after I used them, and the IDs were simply used on doors and returned when possible.
Summary - As far as I can say at this time (given my memory of the incident is rather spotty and I’ve just noticed my ban) is a series of escalation between me and security, with my use of invisible walls being mostly for gags otherwise. I admit that my handling of the situation was poor, and these rules were broken to an extent, but certainly not worthy of a month-long ban.
