Hello, I would like to request that this 3 day antag ban be dropped down to a warning. It was a honest mistake in not understand the rules full on my part, and after a rereading I still find them not perfectly clear, however I do accept and will follow it in the future.
The rule that I broke was “1.1. Do not needlessly kill those you do not need to outside of your objectives and simply because you can. This includes destroying silicons. Things like covering up evidence, dealing with pursuing security officers, ‘Good Samaritans’ on your tail, and removing a witness, are always acceptable examples. Ahelping ideas for gimmicks may grant an exception to this.”
The action I took was creating 5 golems and tell them to be a pain to sec, later adding on “Kill them if you can” when asked if they should kill. The reason I did this was sec had a heavy presense in SCI and was gneral patroling sci too often for me to get my objectives (Destroy lathe and RD bug) done. They also diablered me at round start coming out of shuttle which I held a grudge from. I believed this action was within the rules due to:
1.4. Do what is needed for your goals. Destroying half the station when you only need to steal research is an example of going extremely overboard. Causing chaos in a department with a bomb is okay but destroying half the station is not"
I believed this to mean that a direct attack on a department for the sake of causing chaos would be acceptable within the rules. The scale of the damage of a bomb and 5 golems (And a few gold slime monsters I got caught setting up) is similar at worst, if not much smaller.
I understand now that my interpretation was incorrect, however the phrasing of the rules is imperfect and a warning would be a sufficient enough solution to rectify this issue. I don’t even really care that much about the 3 day antag ban if you wish to take a few days before resolving the appeal I wouldn’t care, however it looks bad on my record and I don’t think I deserve such a extreme mark on my record.
Once again, I am sorry for my actions, they where incorrect however done without intent to break the rules. Thank you for taking the time to review this appeal.
