Ban Message (Gyazo/imgur or copy and paste):Silicon policy, ambiguous laws 2). Act in good faith. As an AI, tried to prevent sick people from boarding the shuttle and siphoned virology in an attempt to “protect” the healthy. This is just malicious and only served to hurt more innocents
State your appeal: The viro thing was my only fault here. Let me explain what happened
There were 2 viruses on the station. while getting the cure for the first 2, the virologist and chemist contracted what i assume was a sentient virus. This one killed both of them in less than 2 minutes. it was BAD. as a paladin ai, this was very bad. this virus killed very fast, and i couldnt let it out of virology, or many innocent people would die. the viro in this case had gotten a cure to the first 2 viruses but it was behind the infected bodies. my plan was to siphon the air from viro, and then open the doors to viro, and hopefully launch the bodies back into viro, leaving the path to the cure available. what i did NOT realize however, was that once i started this process, and realized it probably wouldnt work, i couldnt reverse it, because because viro has its own air supply and wasnt able to refill the room. this was my mistake, and i take ownership of it, but i dont think that its worth a job ban.

Now onto the second part of what i was banned for, that i strongly disagree with. I prevented sick people from getting on the shuttle. I see this not only as something that isnt bad, but actually the CORRECT coarse of action. As the ai, i am not made by the station, but made by nanotrasen. i am the ai on the station, but i must think about the impact on other stations as well. in character, i am loaded on many stations, and if there is a massive threat to one station, letting that threat get loose to centcomm is worst case scenario. On top of that, the captain specifically stated “call the shuttle, give the cured a chance” and i went into quaruntine mode because as i said, the virus was BAD. it killed the cmo in less than a few minutes. Letting it get to centcomm would mean that many hundreds or thousands of innocents on other stations would be at risk, and i chose to prioritize those people. in character, this made sense, and after the round, i was even commended on my handling of such a virus by more than one person.

The viro thing was a mistake. I recognise that and thats on me. i dont think i deserve a jobban, because as far as im concerned, this made sense. if im wrong in my logic, please let me know, but i think that a misunderstanding of the logic that the ai would have in character doesnt deserve a jobban, even if its only a few days, because this is a blemish on my record that i dont think i deserve

Even if i were to buy the “I was trying to follow my lawset in an RP way” argument (which I don’t), why would your go-to course of action be to abandon sick people on a deserted space station? Why would quarantining at Centcom- where they would have more access to resources and the ability to administer a cure that existed - be more evil (something you’re obligated to avoid under a paladin lawset)? If you were genuinely concerned about contagion on the shuttle, why not bring the pandemic aboard and have the viro pump out cures there? Or have an engie borg construct a wall to section off an area for sick crew members? There were lots of RP solutions to this that didn’t involve preventing people from entering the shuttle, which is pretty obviously against the paladin lawset. This ban was justified. Denied.
