Its no secret fulp died off, im not saying there no longer is an active community, the problem is said community averages around 4 to 14 player give or take. Back then every round was unique, 50 players were the average and it was hard, but not impossible, to play as antag. It also had full departments, sec and command and antags were unique and dynamic and we didnt see an round be like the last one. nowadays you would be lucky to see 20 players and thats probably after an long round
We could introduce new players onto fulp, the problem is that they could get scared off and they generally arent reliable. We could also innovate new things, remember when fulp station station came out? There was an surge of new players and there even was an cult round! Innovating however, is easier said then done.
Ultimately i think our best bet is to gain new players straight from sseths review or regain old players somehow.
There are some objective reasons why Fulp died which are unfortunately, out of your control, it may be hard seeing a community you love die but sooner or later everything dies.
I posted this because i had hope fulp could be repopulated, i think fulp mostly failed because of the lack of an voice, by that i mean popular streamers or youtubers to make fulp look entertaining. Of course someone getting popular enough to get us reoccurring players wont be happening as low pop antagonism isnt very fun or satisfying.
As a new player on Fulp, one thing that was hard for me to get acquainted with was the map rotations. I found it incredibly difficult to learn my job and how to navigate the station. I persevered and learned the station maps and I am only mentioning this as it can turn away new people. Maybe sticking to one or two map rotations may attract new players. It’s just my two cents as a new player to Fulpstation!
Personally i disagree, when you eventually become older in this game, it might become boring to play the same map over and over. i dont think any big server only runs one or two maps too. Thankfully you perservered ss13 can be haunting when learning
I understand and agree that older players might get bored of playing on the same map repeatedly. As I was typing that, I was thinking about the potential problem this could pose for experienced players.
This issue was the only thing that really “scared” me away when I was learning. However, I am somewhat of a veteran player, having played this game religiously about 10 years ago, so I’m used to the learning curve of SS13.
Maybe we could pull a few maps out of rotation? I’m not sure how many are currently in rotation, but I suggest having two or three maps at a time. This should alleviate the boredom and allow new players to learn how this station functions. Other than that, I think this server is great! Everyone is friendly, does their jobs, and I have yet to encounter anyone mindlessly griefing.
Great news! I think most maps are technically not in rotation due to the low pop, most of the maps you see are probably low pop maps and getting an higher pop map is rare
